Class starts Tuesday, January 23, 2018.
This is a ground school for pilots looking to add an instrument rating. This is also a great refresher course for Instrument rated pilots. This will run as a full 12 week course. The class will be taught in Gateway Aviation's classroom. The class is limited to 14 students. The books used will be the FAA Instrument Flying Handbook, FAA Instrument Procedures Handbook, FAR/AIM and FAA IFR publications. The IFR publications (enroute charts, approach plates, departures, arrivals...) will be taught through ForeFlight; you will be able to follow along with paper charts as well.
The FAA requires a total of 30 hours to graduate an FAA 141 Instrument Ground School. We will issue all successful graduates a certificate indicating 30 hours of 141 instrument ground training. Upon successful completion of 30 hours and passing all stage exams and end of course exams the students will be issued an FAA 141 graduation certificate.
This course will provide the necessary 141 ground training hours needed by our Liberty University students.
Gateway's RedBird FMX 1000 full motion AATD (Simulator) is FAA 141 Approved!
Students can utilize time in the RedBird as 141 ground or flight training.
This is an awesome piece of equipment for Instrument training... pause and review as needed!
All Students taking this ground school will receive $10 off per hour on the RedBird FMX toward their instrument rating, til rating completion.
